About 12,000 Runners Registered for the Perm Marathon
The races of the annual sports competition will be held on September 5th and 6th.
According to the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Perm City Administration, 11 675 participants from 323 Russian cities registered for the 9th Perm Marathon. International runners from Kazakhstan and South Africa will also take part in it. A multiple Russian champion in long-distance running and the holder of a new national record in the 42.2 km race, will represent the Perm Krai.
The annual program of the Perm Marathon includes several distances: 42.2 km – classic marathon, 21.1 km – half marathon, 10 000 m, 5 000 m, 1 000 m, Ekiden relay, wheelchair race. This year, participants will experience a new format. For the 2 500 m distance, there will be a costume-based "Race of Professions" and a family race, as well as a race for results, which will add even more excitement and entertainment to the event. It should be noted that participants of the Perm Marathon have the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming event with an experienced coach and in the company of like-minded individuals. On weekends, participants gather at a predetermined location. The runs are organized to accommodate various levels of fitness, taking into account both beginners and more experienced runners. The 9th Perm Marathon will be held on September 5th and 6th, 2026. The total number of participants may reach 20,000 people for the first time in the history of the event. Every finisher will receive a medal featuring a squirrel as a souvenir.
It is worth reminding that the running season in Pern is in high gear. Before the Perm Marathon satellite races will be held. On August 2, the "Perm Trail" race will take place in the "Dynamo" ski base. The final satellite race called "Happy Run" will be held on October 18 on the central embankment of the Kama River.
